Each YourLands adventure game is called a World.
You play the game by typing commands. Some commands are followed by one or more words explaining what you want to do. Here is a summary of some of the most useful commands:
intro explains the objective of the game. This is automatically printed when you first start the game.
look gives a description of your current location. You are automatically given this description when you first enter a new location.
go moves you through an exit in the current location. It can be followed by any of these words to specify the direction:
ahead, back, right, left, north or n, north-east or ne, east or e, south-east or se, south or s, south-west or sw, west or w, and north-west or nw.
go through or go along followed by the name of an exit from the current location goes along or through that exit.
take or pick up followed by the name of an object in the current location picks up the object.
drop followed by the name of an object you are carrying drops the object.
Other commands may be available in special circumstances. For example, if you are holding a spade try dig.
Some commands may take two or more words; for example:
give bread to troll or give troll bread.
